Highmark Health is one of the largest Blue Cross Blue Shield insurers in the United States, serving over 12 million members nationwide. It offers Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and ACA plans, and operates enGen, its technology subsidiary powering health operations for plans and providers across the country.

Highmark is also scaling its platform by acquiring regional health plans and modernizing how care is accessed and delivered — areas where I played a defining role.

My role

I was a Senior Product Manager at Highmark, where I led platform transformation across claims, Medicare enrollment, and partner acquisition. I built robots to process claims, rebuilt how seniors buy health plans, and streamlined proposals that brought in millions of new members.

In function, I worked on healthcare infrastructure. In impact, I helped millions of people get faster service, better access, and more value from the system they depend on.

1. Robotic Claims Adjudication

I built Highmark’s first robotic claims platform, reducing manual intervention by 60 percent and saving $6 per claim.
This automation processed over 500,000 claims in its first year and became the foundation for other enterprise workflows.

2. Medicare Advantage Growth and Retention

I led the redesign of Medicare enrollment and retention tools, increasing member growth by 30 percent and retention to 97 percent.
The centralized sales platform and rebuilt member portal reduced acquisition costs by $38 million and drove two 5-star CMS ratings.

3. Health Plan Acquisition and RFP Transformation

I overhauled Highmark’s RFP and onboarding process, reducing proposal timelines from 3 months to 2 weeks.
